Bandits kidnap Imam on farmland in Ondo
Bandits struck in Ondo State on Saturday, kidnapping the Chief Imam of the Uso community from his farm at Asolo Camp, Owo Local Government Area, Alhaji Ibrahim Bodunde Oyinlade.
A family member was said to have disclosed that the kidnappers have made contact with the family, noting that they have not yet made demand for ransom or indicate intention to release Islamic scholar.
It was gathered that the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Ondo State Command, Fumilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, on Sunday admitted the kidnap incident in the state.
The kidnappers were said to have abandoned the car and mobile phone of the Imam on his farmland as they whisked him away.
The family was said to have disclosed that the Divisional Police Officer in Uso and officers of the Division, including local vigilante operatives, have embarked on manhunt, searching the bush in the area for the rescue of the Imam, as well as arrest the kidnappers.
