Bandits kill nine, rustle livestock in fresh invasion of community in Zamfara
More deaths are being recorded from the onslaught of bandits in northwest Nigeria and ravaging Boko Haram and ISWAP in the northeast. In a fresh invasion of a community, Tungar Ruwa Village in Anka Local Government Area, Zamfara State, bandits slaughtered about nine persons, rustled livestock, burgled shops, and carted away foodstuff, and other valuables from the community.
The bandits were said to have encroached on the community on Wednesday night, shooting sporadically to advance in their operations, killing nine locals, in addition to the soldiers, while several persons were injured.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Zamfara State Police Command, Mohammed Shehu, had acknowledged the attack and killings on Friday night. He disclosed that the state command had deployed tactical operatives to the area for manhunt of the bandits and prevent more attacks.
