Bandits kill village head, abduct wife of PDP chieftain
Barely days after Boko Haram jihadi group claimed responsibility for the brutal massacre of farmworkers in northeast Nigeria over the weekend, Bandits have again struck in Zamfara, killing the village head and abducting eight others.
Zamfara State Police Command spokesperson Superintendent Shehu Mohammed who confirmed the attack, said bandits attacked Gwaram community, Talatan Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State, killing the village head dead and eight others abducted.
He said one of the abducted victims is the wife of the District head, Musa Makeri, who is also the former ward chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Mohammed said the Village Head was shot dead after refusing to be kidnapped by the bandits.
