By Orukpe Rebecca.
Nigerian musician BNXN, formerly known as Buju, has announced the release of his new single ‘Sweet Tea (Aduke)’ which samples Wyclef Jean’s classic track ‘Sweetest Girl’. The mid-tempo love song marks the third single from BNXN’s forthcoming debut album ‘Sincerely, Benson’ which is set to drop on October 5, 2023.
BNXN first gained mainstream recognition in 2019 with his Zlatan-assisted single ‘Testimony’, and since then has become one of the fastest-rising artists in Nigerian music. He has also released two successful EPs, ‘Sorry I’m Late’ and ‘Bad Since ’97’, and collaborated with the likes of Wizkid, Ladipoe, and Pheelz.
With ‘Sweet Tea (Aduke)’, BNXN showcases his lyrical prowess and unique vocal range over a catchy beat that is sure to be a hit with fans. The song’s chorus sees him croon “Sweet tea, baby come and drink with me, cuz I see you’re lonely, oh sweet tea”.
In an interview with RollingStone Nigeria, BNXN stated that ‘Sweet Tea (Aduke)’ was inspired by “feeling emotions about someone you just met and you still want to get to know better, it’s a feeling that is special and unique and that’s exactly what Sweet Tea is all about”.
The release of ‘Sweet Tea (Aduke)’ has been eagerly awaited by BNXN’s fans, who have taken to social media to express their excitement for the new track. With its infectious melody and heartfelt lyrics, ‘Sweet Tea (Aduke)’ is set to become another hit record for BNXN and solidify his place as one of the most sought-after voices in Afrobeats.
