Boko Haram fighters engages military in gun battle near Damaturu

Suspected Boko Haram fighters are currently engaged in fierce gun battle with the Nigerian Army in the suburb of Damaturu, as they approach the capital of Yobe State from Maiduguri road.

National Daily gathered that the terrorists exchange soldiers in hot exchange of fireworks in their bid to invade the Yobe State capital on Tuesday evening. A source residing in Damaturu was gathered to have revealed that people have run home to avoid being caught in the fireworks.

Nigerian Air Force fighter jets were said to be sighted in the area reinforcing the ground military forces in engaging the Boko Haram fighters.
