Breaking: Jailed human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong released
Inibehe Effiong, a human right lawyer who was jailed for contempt of court on July 27 by the Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom, Ekaette Obot has been released from the Cross River Correctional Centre.
Recall that the judge ordered Mr Effiong’s imprisonment after the lawyer queried her decision to send a Premium Times reporter, Saviour Imukudo, out of the courtroom and expressed concerns over the intimidating presence of armed police officers in the courtroom.
