Buhari commends brave Airforce pilot for gallantry
President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday commended the gallant pilot of the Nigerian Air Force Alpha Jet, Flight Lieutenant Abayomi Dairo, for successfully ejecting from an aircraft that came under “intense ground fire from bandits” in Zamfara State, northwest Nigeria, at the weekend.
The President, receiving briefing on the successful operation by the defence forces to rescue the pilot, expresses sadness over the air crash.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, cited President Buhari to have said: “I was shocked by the devastating news of the air crash but felt much relieved, following the successful ejection by the pilot and his eventual rescue.
May the injured pilot recover at the earliest time.’’
