Buhari is misruling Nigeria – Bode George
President Muhammadu Buhari and his All Progressives Congress (APC) must do all within their powers to continue with some legacies left behind by Goodluck Jonathan and his predecessor, late Umar Musa Yar’Adua if he must succeed. This warning comes from Chief Olabode George, former vice chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former military governor.
Speaking in Lago, George who clocks 71 said “The APC-led government is not actually running the country the way the people had expected”. The report said George thinks the Buhari government is misruling the country and insists this is evident in the ways the party is gradually falling apart. He said the party’s trouble include that many of its leaders who worked assiduously to ensure that it emerged successful in 2015 have now been sidelined.
He recalled that the efforts made by Musa Yar’ dua and Goodluck Jonathan led to the peace experienced during their tenure. He said this is no longer the case with the level of attacks on oil installations. To him, the solution to militancy is negotiation with the agitators
“President Yar’adua did a lot to improve the lives of youths in the Niger Delta region, most of whom are now doing well in various courses of study abroad. “Even though, oil revenue dropped in recent times, the region remains key to our economy as a nation.
“But if you compare how much that was used to sustain people in that region so as to achieve peace with how much we have lost since the commencement of hostilities and blowing up of pipelines, then, you will realise the need for dialogue. “As a political leader, the president must realise that it costs nothing to bring everybody together,” he concluded.
