Chelsea represent Europe at Club World Cup in UAE 2022
Chelsea will be representing Europe in the next Club World Cup being hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in early 2022. Chelsea became Europe’s representative having won UEFA Champions League
Al Ahly of Egypt will also be participating in the tournament from the African continent.
In South America, the representative would emerge from either Palmeiras or Flamengo, two Brazilian teams that will be playing the final of Copa Libertadores in November 2021.
FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, had on Wednesday disclosed that the next Club World Cup will be hosted by the United Arab Emirates in early 2022.
The Club World Cup will have champions of the six continental football confederations in participation, including the top team of the host country. It was earlier scheduled to be played at the end of this year in Japan before the country gave hosting rights because of the pandemic.
Infantino had at a press conference after FIFA’s Council meeting, “The Club World Cup will be played in early 2022. “There are no precise dates yet, but the host will be the United Arab Emirates.”
