Chelsea suffer disgracing 1-4 defeat by Brighton, drop out of top four
Chelsea on Saturday suffered a disgraceful 1-4 defeat by Brighton in the Premier League. Chelsea lost their first game under manager Graham Potter to the coach’s former club after nine games.
Brighton had replaced Potter with Roberto De Zerbi; and Chelsea’s defeat was his first victory since leading Brighton.
Chelsea gave Brighton their first goal through own goals from Ruben Loftus-Cheek and `Chalobah; then, an early goal by Leandro Trossard sealed the winning chance for Brighton.
Kai Havertz scored to reduce the tally in the early second half. Pascal Gross added another goal for Brighton to consolidate their victory at the Amex Stadium.
