Coach Salihu Yusuf  to join Sunshine Stars as Technical Assistant to  Dogo

Sunshine Stars of Akure hope to add more technical input to its team to fully put them in proper shape for the new season, seems to have yielded fruits as they have contacted the service of former of Kwara United Feeders team and FC Yarmalight Coach Salihu Yusuf.

Yusuf looks set to function as technical assistant to Coach Kabiru Dogo who signed recently as the new Technical Adviser of the Owena Waves.

Sources closed to  National Daily that the ever gentle smiling Coach Yusuf  was sighted at the training ground of Sunshine team last week in Akure and looks set to tidy up his documentation soonest.

But he will be travelling with the team to Ekiti for the Gold Cup Pre Season tournament which will commence on Thursday this week.

According to our source who didn’t want his name disclosed said: “Coach Salihu looks set to join Sunshine Stars as an assistant to Dogo.

“Salihu is not new to the coaching philosophy of Dogo having worked with Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS FC) as Chief Coach.

“He has a rich resume and pedigree working with different clubs.

“Recall he narrowly lost a promotion ticket to the Nigeria Professional Football League  (NPFL) as Bukola Babes coach, and was formally Technical assistant to Kwara United feeders before FC Yarmalight to promotion to the NNL last season.

“Skiddo’s vast experience in coaching and Football Methodology would play a major role if he finally signs the dotted lines with Sunshine Stars of Akure and we are still hoping for the official press release and unveiling of the ever likable personality.”

Recall, Coach Yusuf voluntarily disengaged himself from the Nigeria Airforce and moved into Full time Coaching after he bagged BSC in Physical and Health Education at the Ekiti state University, study at the National Institute of Sports Lagos, also the CAF C & B License.
