Commissioner leads team to Oyingbo market on clean environment campaign
The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources in Lagos State, Tokunbo Wahab, in a public advocacy drive, led a team of the ministry to Oyingbo market and Victoria Island to enlighten traders on the need to avoid blocking of the drainage and save the environment from flooding in the state.
According to Dr. Wahab, @tokunbo_wahab “In a proactive move to address environmental concerns and prevent flooding, this morning, I led the team from the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources to a one-on-one advocacy campaign with traders in Oyingbo, Victoria Island and other parts of Lagos, urging the traders to stop displaying goods on drainage channels so as to discourage blockage of the channels.
“This will be followed by strict enforcement to ensure compliance.”
