Court keeps Matawalle waiting on perjury suit, adjourns to Wednesday
A Federal High Court sitting in Gusau, Zamfara Sate, has kept Governor Bello Matawalle waiting on the perjury suit, adjourning the case at the Monday sitting to Wednesday
for definite hearing.
The presiding judge, Justice Aminu Bappa-Aliyu, adjourned the matter after granting a request by K.M. Nura, Counsel to the plaintiff, the Northern Youth Assembly.
K.M. Nura, in a letter transmitted to the court, requested for adjustment to a convenient date between November 14 and November 18 as a result of ill health.
The court on November 3 dismissed the application brought by Action Peoples Party (APP) seeking to be joined in the alleged perjury suit against Governor Matawalle.
Bappa-Aliyu dismissed the application for lack of merit and adjourned to November 7, 2022, for hearing of the substantive suit.
