Court remand trader for kicking neighbour in groin area
A Sharia Court in Kano on Friday ordered that a 22-year-old trader, Umar Suleiman, who pleaded guilty to kicking his neighbour in the groin areas and stomach be remanded in a correctional centre.
The police charged Suleiman, who lives in Fagge Quarters, Kano with criminal force.
The Judge, Malam Ismai’l Muhammed-Ahmed, adjourned the matter until July 7, for summary trail.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp Abdul Wada, told the court that the complainant, Umar Sani reported the matter at the Fagge Police Station on June 9.
The prosecutor said that the complainant alleged that at about 8p.m ,the defendant kicked Sani in the groin are during an argument and he fell down and sustained injuries.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 165 of the Penal Code.
