Cross River monarch dies at 74
The Royal leader of the Ikot Ene-Obong in Calabar, Cross River State, Ene-Obong Effiong Ene-Obong, is dead. He was 74.
His son, Abasi, announced the monarch’s demise on his Instagram page on Wednesday.
Sharing an obituary of the deceased, Abasi partly wrote, “My father was a great man and a good man. He embodied what it meant to live one’s life in service to others. And he was very wise and spiritual.

“He was my rock. Almost every time I had a major challenge I went to him not because he solved my problems but he gave me the tools to solve them for myself – practical words of advice and an ever so subtle yet powerful confidence booster such as ‘you have the power’, ‘you can accomplish whatever you set your mind to’ and more. I
“It’s because of him I even studied genetics (he studied it first). He was my guide.”
