Cybercriminals, their herbalists arrested in Oyo
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibadan Zonal Command in Oyo, has arrested 26 people, including two herbalists for alleged cybercrime.
Mr Wilson Uwujaren, the commission’s Spokesperson made the disclosure in a statement he signed and made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Friday.
Uwujaren said that the two self-acclaimed herbalists were arrested on Friday at Soka area of Ibadan over their alleged involvement in offences bordering on internet fraud.
He said that they were arrested alongside 24 others, four of whom claimed to be students of Lead City University.
Uwujaren said that 22 of the suspects have been indicted by their ongoing investigation.
He said that the suspects were arrested following verified intelligence on their alleged involvement in cyber fraud.
Uwujaren listed items recovered from them as cars, mobile phones, television sets, Play Station5, laptops among others.
