Defence Minister visits Nigeria UN Mission in New York

The Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali, has praised the good working relationship between the Nigerian missions abroad and the defence sections. This was during a courtesy call to the Nigeria Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Tijjani Bande, in his office in New York. The Minister also congratulated the Permanent Representative for his well deserved appointment and promised him of the full support of his ministry towards discharging his mandate at the United Nations.
In his response Amb Bande thanked the Hon Minister for finding time after the UN General Assembly meeting to visit him in his office. He described the relationship between diplomacy and defence as a major strength of any great Nation.
The Amb also used the opportunity to congratulate the Ministry on the successes recorded so far by the Armed Forces of Nigeria in the fight against insurgency in the North East and its efforts towards restoring law and order in other parts of the country and under the United Nations. He also hailed the quality of leadership and staff of the defence section in the UN mission New York.
