Disaster hits Lagos as another building collapses, scores dead
Some weeks after a building collapsed in Lagos, killing about three persons and injuring many others, another building collapsed today, Monday 29 with several persons feared dead and scores still trapped inside the collapsed building.
According to National Daily findings, the collapsed building is situated at Daddy Alaja Street, Oke Arin area of Lagos Island.
The building, a 3-storey structure was still under construction when it crumbled.
Eye witnesses revealed that the cause of the collapse could not be ascertained immediately.

When contacted, Adesina Tiamiyu, General Manager of the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority, LASEMA, confirmed the incident.
He added that rescue operation by officials of the agency is ongoing as at the time of filing this report.
Recall that on May 18, a building also collapsed on Abimbola Street in Ilasa area of the state at around 2pm killing three people while 19 were injured in the unfortunate incident.
