Dream Stars Ladies first round performance
Debutant, Dream Stars Ladies of Lagos ended the first round of the NWPL with a 4-0 thumping of Heartland Queens to record their first win in the league,National Daily learnt.
The Pride Of Lagos narrowly lost their first match against Edo Queens 1-0, followed by a 2-0 loss against Adamawa Queens before a 4-0 mauling of Heartland Queens.
A date with Edo Queens at the Soccer Temple, Agege Stadium ended in favour of the visitors by a lone goal in a match arguably the match of the season with the Chairperson of the league in attendance.
Week two encounter in Fofure, against Adamawa Queens ended in a 2-0 loss for the visitors.
Both matches have contributed to the strength and technical ability of the team which resulted in a classy display 4-0 against Heartland Queens in matchday three.
National Daily gathered that Adamawa Queens are Group B toppers with seven points, ahead of 2nd placed Edo Queens on six points, while Dream Stars Ladies are 3rd with three points. Heartland Queens are bottom having garnered a solitary point in 3 matches.
In the 3 matches played, Dream Stars Ladies conceded three goals and scored four goals courtesy of Zirike Elizabeth, Oladeji Bunmi, Judith Nwaogu and Animashuan Aishat.
In anticipation of second stanza of the NWPL, the Pride of Lagos travel to Owerri and Benin for a date with Heartland Queens and Edo Queens respectively, with a final match at home against Adamawa Queens at the Agege Stadium.
