Driver in court over alleged theft of vehicle
A 55-year old commercial car driver, Rasheed Toluwalashe, was on Monday, arraigned before an Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly stealing a Toyota Sienna bus.
The defendant, whose address was not provided, is standing trial on a two-count charge of stealing and conspiracy.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Magistrate K. A. Ariyo, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the matter until Aug. 30 for mention.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, ASP Benedict Aigbokhan, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on July 3, at No. 6, Olatunji Street, Ayodo-Egbe, Ikotun, Lagos.
Aigbokhan alleged that Toluwalashe and others now at large, stole a Toyota Sienna space bus, with registration number: KRD 781 XZ.
The prosecutor, said that the defendant stole the vehicle belonging to GCP Transport Company, Lagos, from where it was parked.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015.
