Edo govt lauds former IGP Arase for offering scholarship to 15 children of dead police officers
The Edo State government at the second annual lecture of the Solomon Ehigiator Arase Foundation, lauded former Inspector General of Police, Solomon Ehigiator Arase, for awarding scholarship to over 15 students, children of dead police officers.
National Daily gathered that the beneficiaries of the higher institution scholarships are children of deceased of Inspectorate cadre and other ranks and files of the Nigeria Police Force who died while on duty in the service of the country.
The Solomon Ehigiator Arase Foundation was said to have remained consistent with its presentation of scholarship awards to undergraduate students in different tertiary institutions.
Deputy Governor Phillip Shaibu of Edo State was said to have noted educational support to children of the demised police officers will contribute to reducing insecurity and other vices in the society.
The former IGP Solomon Arase said that the scholarship is aimed at assisting the deserving students who have financial needs in the society to pursue their dreams.
