Ekiti 2018: Fayemi chooses Adubiaro as running mate
Dr. Kayode Fayemi, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in in Ekiti State, has chosen Alhaja Habibat Adubiaro as his running mate for the July 14 governorship election in the state.
National Daily gathered that Adubiaro, was the President of the Federation of Muslim Women Associations of Nigeria (FOMWAN), and also a former Commissioner for Women Affairs.
The Ado-Ekiti born Adubiaro is also a Senior Lecturer at the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti.
Prof. Kolapo Olusola, incumbent Deputy Governor, and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had earlier chosen Kazeem Deji Ogunsakin, immediate past Chairman of Ado Local Government, as his running mate for the July 14 election.
Ogunsakin, 39, was said to be chosen after extensive consultation with various stakeholders, including the youths and the Muslim community in the state by PDP leaders.
Fayemi had on Wednesday resigned his ministerial appointment in Abuja to fully concentrate on the preparations for the governorship election.
The former minister won the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election held on May 12 to become the party’s governorship candidate in Ekiti State.
