Emefiele's brother reacts after scuffle in court

George Emefiele, the younger brother of the suspended Central Bank of Nigeria governor has reacted to the manner authorities are treating his brother after serving the country for nine years.

It described the situation as unfair and undemocratic. This is coming after the men from the State Security Service and prison officials clashed after the court granted Godwin Emefiele N20m bail.

Men from the Nigeria Secret Police said the former CBN boss will remain in their custody while the officials from the Correctional Service said they will obey court ruling as the court ruled that Emefiele will be remanded in the correctional facilities pending when he fulfill the bail condition.

Reacting to the incident, “George Emefiele said,” My brother can’t run away. He served the country for 9 good years. Is this how you want to pay him back?,” he asked.

He said it is unfair for federal government to disobey court order, as his brother doesn’t deserve what he is facing after 9 years of service to the country.

Going further, he revealed that his brother is sick as he is emotionally and physically tortured.
