FG launches NINAuth for secure digital identity verification across all MDAs
In a significant step towards strengthening Nigeria’s digital identity ecosystem, the Federal Government has officially launched the National Identity Management Commission’s (NIMC) NIN Authentication Service (NINAuth) — a state-of-the-art identity verification platform aimed at securing and streamlining access to public services.
This development comes as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has approved the immediate implementation of NINAuth across all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
The presidential directive aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes improved governance through robust digital infrastructure and enhanced national identity management.
According to the NIMC, the NINAuth platform represents a major leap forward in ensuring reliable and secure identification for all citizens and legal residents.
The new platform features a comprehensive suite of services — including web-based, API, and mobile interfaces — that offer real-time identity authentication while safeguarding individual privacy.

“This innovation marks a new era in digital identity governance in Nigeria,” said Dr. Kayode Adegoke, Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC. “NINAuth provides a scalable, secure, and interoperable solution that enables seamless integration with government systems, while giving users control over how and when their data is accessed.”
The platform also plays a crucial role in harmonizing identity databases across MDAs, improving service delivery efficiency, and ensuring compliance with the National Identity Policy of the Federal Government.
Nigerians are encouraged to download the NINAuth App, now available on the Google Play Store and Apple iOS App Store.
For integration details and implementation guidelines, users and stakeholders can visit the official portal: https://ninauth.nimc.gov.ng.
The launch of NINAuth underlines NIMC’s ongoing commitment to building a secure, inclusive, and accessible digital identity infrastructure that supports national development, enhances governance, and empowers citizens.
