Fintiri reviews 24-hr curfew
Governor Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has reviewed the 24-hour curfew imposed in the state over upsurge of violence.The curfew is now reviewed to 6.00pm to 6.00am.
The governor had imposed the curfew in the aftermath of the violent outburst in the state as youths invaded busniesses and public places in search of survival.

Many attributed the violence to hunger in the state, but the government was of the view that the people went looting.
However, Governor Fintiri in a statement declared:

“I, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, have taken the decision to ease the 24-hour curfew imposed across all 21 Local Government Areas in Adamawa State.
“The curfew has been reviewed from 6pm to 6am and will be hourly reviewed. Increased security presence will ensure compliance and maintain peace. Let’s continue working together for a peaceful Adamawa State!”
In the earlier declaration, the governor had stated:

“Effective immediately Sunday, July 30, 2023, I, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, have declared a 24-hour curfew in Adamawa State due to escalating violence by hoodlums attacking people and businesses.
“No movement is allowed, except for essential duties with valid ID.
“Your safety is our priority – please comply for the wellbeing of all.”
