Fire consumes three-storey building in Lagos
There was a fire outbreak on Sunday at Oniru, adjacent to Lekki, Lagos State, causing the inferno to raze a three-story building.
The affected building was said to be on Ifeanyi Street, Victoria Island. The building was also said to be three streets away from the site of the seven-storey building that collapsed in the early hours of Sunday, causing double tragedy in the area.
Emergency workers – operatives of the Fire Service LASEMA, etc, were said to have arrived the scene for interventions.
There was no casualty recorded at the early stage of intervention. However, properties were destroyed, though, yet to be ascertained.
The collapsed building was said to have killed about two persons while four persons were trapped in the rubbles.
The building, under construction at Oba Idowu Oniru Street, by Ave Maria Hospital, near Sandfield, Lekki, collapsed in the early hours of Sunday.
