By Anuoluwa Amao
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has expressed grief over the death of its former Corps Marshal, Dauda Ali Biu, who led the organisation from July 2022 to May 2024.
The agency announced his death in a condolence statement on Monday, with the current Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, describing his passing as a major loss to the corps and Nigeria’s road safety sector.
Mohammed said Biu dedicated his career to public service, demonstrating discipline, professionalism and commitment to improving road safety.
According to him, Biu joined the FRSC during its formative years and rose through the ranks, gaining extensive experience in road safety administration and contributing to the development of the organisation.
He added that Biu’s leadership helped strengthen the corps and that his contributions would remain part of its institutional legacy.
“His contributions to the growth and development of the FRSC remain part of the collective legacy upon which we continue to build,” Mohammed said.
The Corps Marshal extended condolences to Biu’s family, friends, colleagues and associates, praying that they would find the strength to bear the loss.
He also prayed for Allah’s forgiveness for the deceased and for his admission into Aljannah (Paradise).
“Rest in peace, Dauda Ali Biu. Your service to the nation will not be forgotten,” Mohammed said.
