Gbajabiamila denies fighting Tinubu’s battle in House investigation of Correctional Service under Aregbesola

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, on Thursday denied fighting the battle of the All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Asiwaju Bola, in the investigation of the Nigerian Correctional Service under the supervision of the Minister of Interior, Raf Aregbesola, who has been having a running battle with Tinubu in Lagos and Osun states.

The House Minority Leader, Ndudi Elumelu, had moved the motion for the investigation of the funds allocated to Nigerian Correctional Service, including issues relating to staff welfare. Despite being a member of the Peoples Democratioc Party (PDP), the Minority leader of the House is widely perceived to be a covert political friend of Speaker Gbajabiamila. The Elumelu is being conceived as a political recruit of the APC to scuttle the PDP proposed leadership structure in the House of Representatives when the opposition party nominated Hon. Chinda from Rivers State as the Minority Leader.

Speaker Gbajabiamila, responding Onofiok Luke who raised a matter of privilege, citing reports that the House  investigation of the Nigerian Correctional Service was a political game  by the Speaker fight the minister of Interior who has been having skirmishes with Tinubu.

The Speaker maintained that the investigation has nothing to do with Tinubu.
