Group replies Bello over moves against Tinubu ahead of 2023
A support group, the Tinubu Legacy Forum has warned Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello not to allow his 2023 presidential ambition to blind him to the virtues and greatness of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
The Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) of the forum, Alh. Ganiyu Akeem, who gave the warning in a statement, described Tinubu as an experienced, detribalized Nigerian who is qualified to lead Nigeria at this critical time.
Rather than use age to disqualify Tinubu, the TLF said his age is rather an advantage having transformed Lagos economy while serving as governor twice, and outside office. It added that Tinubu also supervised APC’s establishment and electoral victory along with other leaders, stressing that he is rich in experience, exposure and knowledge to govern Nigeria at this critical period.

“Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is a born and great leader who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way. He is tested and trusted. He has efficiently managed the affairs of Lagos State and effectively led the progressive party to victories at all levels. Tinubu is a detribalised Nigerian who treats men equally irrespective of their creed or colour. BAT is the best man for the presidential job come 2023.
“What is needed in a leader is not necessarily his age, but his knowledge, exposure, experience, technical know- how and his structure. The current American President, Joe Biden, is old but his age is not the barrier. Americans massively voted for him and he is efficiently moving the US forward, and such was his predecessor, Donald Trump. He is old but effectively tried his best then.
“Let’s shun needless enmity and campaigns of calumny. Let’s join hands together to fix Nigeria. Let’s support the best man for the job,” the statement read in part.
