He is going to unify the country but, he is tearing his party apart – Aisha Yesufu blasts Atiku
Amid the rumours of division in the camp of the Peoples Democratic Party, Aisha Yesufu, a renowned activist in a post released by her few hours ago, took a quick swipe at the presidential flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party for the forthcoming 2023 presidential election.
In the post released by her, she argued that Atiku Abubakar who has been dubbed a unifier by loyalists and supporters is currently tearing his party apart. She noted that because of his wealth, he was forgiven of his sins despite the role he played in the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari as president in 2015.Why it may sound as a shocker to some persons, the claims by Aisha Yesufu are not entirely far from the truth. In 2015, Atiku Abubakar was quite instrumental in the emergence of president Muhammadu Buhari as president. But, despite ditching the party, he came back and was given the ticket to run for the presidency in 2019.
However, things are not entirely rosy in the camp of the Peoples Democratic. Since governor Okowa was picked as running mate instead of Wike who was reportedly favoured for the role by the majority of the special committee set up for the selection of a VP candidate, there have been rumours that many party members are aggrieved.
If the news going round about the alleged plan by Wike and Ayodele Fayose to leave the Peoples Democratic is anything to go by, then Atiku Abubakar is not doing a good job unifying his party.
