Hisbah Islamic Police arrest 19 persons over same sex marriage in Kano
The Hisbah, Islamic Police in Kano State, in a security operation, arrested 19 persons, who include 15 females and 4 males, attending same sex marriage ceremony in the state.
The Public Relations Officer of Hisbah in Kano, Lawal Ibrahim Fagge, was gathered to have disclosed that the groom and bride, Abba and Mujahid, escaped after the arrival of officials of the agency, but the invitees were arrested.
The PRO was cited to have said: “We were able to arrest 15 females who camouflaged like they were celebrating a birthday.
“However, we had gotten intelligence that it was a planned same-sex marriage between one Abba and Mujahid.
“The owner of the event center and 3 of his staff were also arrested.”
Hisbah cautioned that the operatives will not allow such illegal behavior to continue in Kano State, noting that it is against the constitution of the state and, of Nigeria.
