How Abba Kyari, his deputy Sunny Ubua spent N4bn tramadol money
Indication has emerged on how the suspended DCP Abba Kyari and his main man spent the huge amount of money they received as their share after a deal they did.
The cops used the money to buy properties and make other investments after collecting their share of N4.2 billion. According to the official account of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), officials of the agency disclosed that Kyari and his Deputy, Sunday Ubua, shared the money as Kyari got N1.6 billion whereas Ubua who carried out the deal received N2.7 billion.
The report revealed that Ubua invested largely in shares after receiving the money. On the other hand, Kyari invested his own money in real estates in choice parts of the country with Lekki (Lagos), Maitama and Wuse areas of Abuja topping the list.
Officials of the NDLEA are still following up on the case of Kyari and his accomplices even as they are kept in prison from where they attend court hearing. In the last few months, the anti-narcotic agency has made several revelations concerning the links Kyari and his men have with some illicit drug dealers. Meanwhile Kyari has been insisting that he is innocent, it is left to be seen how the case would be decided at the end.
