How bus driver, 41, rapes 78-yr-old
A commercial bus driver who allegedly raped a 78-year-old woman in the Adeniyi Jones area of Ikeja, Lagos, has been arrested by the police.
The grandma was going to Ketu, but lost her bearing, and was offered a lift by Jelili Lawal, 41.
According to the State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, the woman was happy, never suspecting the driver had another plan.
Lawal drove her to Oloti, Ikeja, and molested her until a resident in the neighbourhood heard her cry and called the police.
“That was how the police caught the suspect in the act and rescued the old woman, who was already bleeding from her private parts as a result of the assault on her dignity.”
The victim was taken to the hospital, was being counselled by trauma specialists, adding that the suspect would be charged to court as soon as the investigation was concluded.
