How new lawmaker died four days after inauguration of Assembly in Kaduna
A new lawmaker in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Garba Madami, representing the Chikun constituency, on Saturday died, four days after the inauguration of the 10th House of Asssembly.
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State was said to have expressed shock over the death of the lawmaker.
The Chief Press Secretary to the demised legislator, Mohammed Shehu, in a statement on Saturday, indicated that “the Governor commiserated with his immediate family and the people of Chikun Constituency,” noting that “the lawmaker was known for promoting peaceful coexistence and was greatly respected.”
The statement indicated that Governor Sani prayed to God to grant the soul of Madami eternal rest and comfort his family, associates, friends, and constituents he left behind.
The late Garba Madami was a Political Adviser to the late Governor Patrick Yakowa of Kaduna State, former Commissioner of Planning and Budget, and chairman of Chikun Local Government Area.
The statement, however, did not indicate the cause of the sudden death of the lawmaker.
