How the alleged murder of Michael Ataga by Chidinma became the most talked-about crime in 2021
So many incidents happened in 2021 which, at the time they happened, was widely talked about. One of the most talked-about crimes that happened in 2021 was the murder of Michael Usifo Ataga, fondly known as the Chief Executive Officer of Super TV. He is a Lagos billionaire who was allegedly murdered by Chidinma Ojukwu, a 300lv Unilag lady.
When Chidinma was apprehended by the Lagos State Police Force, she told journalists that she stabbed Michael Usifo, her sugar daddy, to break away from his violent grasp after they had both been under the influence of drugs. This caused a lot of reactions on social media as Chidinma was criticized for leaving the lifeless body of Michael Usifo and running away with his ATM to withdraw his money. During the event, Nigerians got to know that Michael Usifo has a wife named Brenda, who lives in Abuja and is also one of the top officials of NNPC.
Along the line, several mixed reactions began to go viral as Chidinma Ojukwu gave another confession that contradicted the ones she told the press when she was first arrested. Lawyers, public personalities, and concerned Nigerians began to air their views as regards the situation. National Daily reports during a court hearing in November 2021, a man identified as Mr. Ifeoluwa Olowu, who sells Laptops and Computers, told Justice Yetunde Adesanya that two days after Michael Usifo’s body was found, Chidinma Ojukwu came to him and sold his MacBook Pro to him at the sum of N495,000.
Since then, both the Counsel of the Prosecutor and the Defendant have continued to battle it out in court as the case continues to suffer adjournments. Therefore, this has hindered Nigerians from knowing what the final judgment would do. However, the murder of Michael Usifo, Super TV CEO is one of the most talked-about crimes that happened in 2021.
