INEC assures party officials on use of candidate nomination portal of technical support
Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu on Friday visited the venue of the training organized by the commission for political party officials on how to use INEC Candidate Nomination Portal for the 2023 General Election in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
Prof. Yakubu visited all the six groups under training to ascertain that the party officials understood what they were being taught. They affirmed understanding of the different aspects of the training.
The INEC Chairman urged the officials to carefully note the respective commencement dates and deadlines for the submission/uploading of the candidates’ nomination forms for the national and state elections to the portal.
He told the party officials that as contained in the timetable and schedule of activities for the 2023 general election, the online submission of nomination forms EC9A, 9B, 9C, 9D and 9E for national elections – presidential and national assembly – is 10th – 17th June 2022; while the dates for the submission of nomination forms for state elections – governorship and state assembly – is between 1st and 15th July 2022.
He assured the party officials that the Commission would render technical or any other support they might require while using the portal.
The training began on Wednesday 1st June and would end on Saturday 14th June.
