INEC begins PVC distribution, list requirements
Millions of Nigerians who have registered newly to vote in the 2023 general election will as from today be able to collect the Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) that will enable them exercise their franchise as from today, 12 December.
The Independent National Electoral Commissioner, INEC’s Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education, Festus Okoye, announced this at the weekend.
According to Okoye, the decision to start the distribution of PVCs today was taken at a parley with the Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) from the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

“It will be recalled that the Commission held a retreat in Lagos with all the Administrative Secretaries and Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECS) from the 36 States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory from 28th November to 2nd December 2022. At the retreat, the Commission finalised the procedure as well as the timetable for collection of PVCs.),” he said.
“Consequently, the Commission has fixed Monday 12 December 2022 to Sunday 22 January 2023 as the dates for the collection of PVCs in all the 774 Local Government Offices of the Commission throughout the Federation.”
According to INEC, Nigerians can get their PVCs between 9 a.m and 3 p.m daily, including Saturdays and Sundays.
After January 15, 2023, PVC collection can done at the local government offices of INEC until January 22, 2023. You need to present your Temporary Voter’s Card to the INEC Officials in order to collect your PVC.
