Jandor says his ambition is not selfish
Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran says his ambition is not driven by selfish interest but by passion to serve the masses.
Adediran made this remark while addressing his supporters and members of the party at FESTAC Town in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area.
It was at the resumption of his state-wide tour of 245 wards in the state.
The candidate said that he was prepared to give utmost priority to masses’ interests.
Commending Dr Niran Adeniji, one of PDP’s foremost stalwarts in the area, Adediran said those who did not understand the job would have left him.
“We realised that even the lightweight can put us in trouble if we do not carry them along.
“You have been running the group without any financial support from me. We know we cannot win Amuwo Odofin without this group,’’ he told Dr Adeniji and his group.
Adediran also thanked the group for believing in his vision.
Expressing confidence that he would win the governorship election, Adediran said he had God and the people behind him.
Earlier, Dr Adeniji said his group had for long been championing the cause of Adediran to become the governor of the state.
According to him, Adediran was introduced to him in August 2021 by his deceased wife, Princess Adenrele Adeniran-Ogunsanya.
“I give you my support and I am with you 100 per cent. I have always been supporting him with my money even when no one gave me money,’’ the octogenarian said.
Adeniji noted that his group, supporting Adediran’s governorship ambition has a huge membership in the council area.
“We have integrated many people into our group and many people would have left the group if not for my sake. I am doing what I believe in,’’ he said.
Adediran and his running mate, Ms Funke Akindele, inaugurated their campaign on Oct. 19 and have since been touring various wards and meeting with stakeholders.
The campaign train has so far visited all wards in Alimosho, Badagry, Ojo and Amuwo-Odofin local government areas.
While Adediran has been visiting stakeholders across wards, including those in the riverine area, Akindele has taken the campaign to markets in various communities to seek their support.
