Jetour takes T1 adventure SUV experience to Abuja, targets growing Nigerian market

Jetour Nigeria is taking its all-new T1 adventure sport utility vehicle (SUV) to Abuja as the Chinese automotive brand seeks to deepen its presence in Nigeria’s expanding SUV market.

The company will host the Jetour Experience Abuja from September 22 to 24, 2026, at the Maha Event Centre, Area 8, Garki, following what it described as a successful debut of the experience in Lagos.

The three-day motoring event is expected to provide prospective buyers and automotive enthusiasts in the Federal Capital Territory with opportunities to inspect the T1, participate in hands-on test drives and attend expert-led technical sessions.

According to Jetour Nigeria, strong participation, extensive test drives and significant sales enquiries recorded during the Lagos edition, alongside growing interest from Abuja residents, influenced its decision to take the experience to the capital.

The Abuja event is also expected to give the automaker an opportunity to demonstrate the T1’s combination of off-road capability and features designed for everyday urban driving.

The T1 measures 4,705mm in length, 1,967mm in width and 1,843mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,800mm.

It is offered with 1.5-litre turbo and 2.0-litre turbo powertrain options, with the latter producing up to 254 horsepower and 390Nm of torque.

The SUV uses BorgWarner XWD intelligent four-wheel drive technology and is paired with either a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission or an eight-speed automatic transmission, depending on configuration.

For off-road driving, the T1 has 199mm of ground clearance, a claimed 600mm water-wading depth and 28-degree approach and departure angles.

Inside the cabin, the vehicle features a 15.6-inch high-definition touchscreen powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 platform, an eight-speaker audio system and a five-seat configuration.

The vehicle also offers 574 litres of rear luggage capacity, while its body structure incorporates 85 per cent high-strength steel.

Safety and driver-assistance technologies include a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), with features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, forward collision warning and autonomous emergency braking.

As part of its strategy to establish a wider national footprint, Jetour Nigeria said it now has seven accredited dealers across the country.

They include Elizade Nigeria Limited, New Era AutoVehicle Services Limited, Kojo Motors, Germaine Auto Centre, Tab Autos Limited, R.T. Briscoe Motors and Mandilas Autos.

The company said the dealer partnerships cover vehicle sales, the supply of genuine spare parts and after-sales maintenance services.

The expansion comes as automakers in Nigeria increasingly compete for buyers in the SUV segment, where demand has been influenced by the appeal of higher ground clearance, increased cabin space and vehicles capable of handling varying road conditions.

Jetour Nigeria said the T1 is designed around a balance between adventure-oriented capability and the comfort required for daily urban mobility.

Since entering the Nigerian market, the brand said it has received several local and international automotive recognitions, including Fastest Growing Auto Brand of the Year and Auto Brand of the Year.

The Abuja experience is expected to further expose the T1 to potential customers while allowing the company to gather direct feedback from motorists in one of Nigeria’s key automotive markets.
