Junior Ajayi hits top form in time for Al Ahly CAF Champions League crunch tie
Junior Ajayi is back on form for Egyptian giants Al Ahly in time for this weekend’s crucial CAF Champions League tie at AS Vita of DR Congo, National Daily gathered.
The Nigeria U23 striker has bounced back in style from a long-term knee injury, which saw him being delisted from the Ahly squad.
The former Shooting Stars ace has now scored five goals and provided an assist in 10 matches since his comeback in January.
His combination with Tunisia international Ali Maaloul, Marwan Mohsen and the Angolan Geraldo da Costa has lifted the Red Devils.
He has since extended his contract with the Cairo giants.
Ahly top Group D of the Champions League with seven points from four matches, three points more than Saturday’s foes AS Vita.
The group is still wide open as Simba of Tanzania have six points and Algeria’s JS Saoura have recorded five points.
