Kabir receives protesters at Govt. House
Governor Abba Kabir of Kano State on Monday played host to protesting youths, under the aegis of Kano State Civil Society Forum, at the Government House, Kano, who are demanding justice at the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.

The youths defied the police order, banning protests in the state, as they move in large group, displaying placards, to the Government House. The youths protested that a female judge at the Kano State Election Petition Tribunal had raised alarm that soem lawyers are trying to bribe her to pervert judgement.

The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Husaini Gumel, earlier on Monday, at the State Police Headquarters “announced a ban on all street protests”, citing tension over the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal which would be sitting for adoption of written addresses.
The CP had declared that “intelligence reports revealed that both the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) are mobilising for street protests against the tribunal sitting.”
