Kidnapped police officer overdresses; gunmen takes him for their rich target

An officer among a team of police and soldiers dispatched to the Tike area of Mayo Belwa, Adamawa, to trap kidnappers has been abducted.

And his abduction seems a twist.

The gunmen who kidnapped the mobile police officer stormed the area targeting one Idi Bage who residents described as a dandy.

However, the police officer overdressed that Saturday evening, and the criminal took him for Bage, their target.

“Unfortunately, the MOPOL who wore an expensive flowing gown in celebration of Christmas was mistaken for the rich man,” a source confirmed to the Daily Trust.

The gunmen are members of the Shila boys and kidnappers in Adamawa State, according to residents.
