Kwankwaso visit to Kogi disastrous
NNPP’s presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso didn’t get a rousing welcome in Kogi when he visited to commission a campaign secretariat on Wednesday.
The former Kano governor had sachet water and pebbles hurled in his face in Lokoja, and the country home of the former governor of the state, the late Abubakara Audu.
On arriving in a motorcade with few supporters, Kwankwso was shouted down by hoodlums who refused to be calmed down by his supporters.
A similar treatment was given the NNPP’s candidate at the venue he was to address the party members.
Kwankwaso had earlier visited the late Audu’s home at Ogbonicha where a crowd of hecklers also gave him a hard time.
The hoodlums claimed he wanted to use Audu’s homage to steal the state’s APC loyalists.
And the NNPP loyalists waiting for him while he headed to Ogbonicha were unhappy, saying the party men he went to address there are still loyal to the ruling APC.
This is the first time Kwankwaso would be shoved around outside of Kano many believe is his strong hold.
