Lagos APC stakeholders’ meeting turns violent over doctored candidate list
The All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting at its secretariat on Acme Road, Ogba, Lagos erupted into violence on Monday as angry party members attacked party leaders for allegedly tampering with the list of the party’s candidates for the Federal House of Representatives and Assembly.
According to an insider source who participated in the botched meeting, what initially started as a protest later turned violent making everyone present scamper for safety.
It was gathered that the South West Organizing Secretary of the party, Lateef Ibirogba was beaten to a pulp.

“The meeting was summoned by the Lagos APC executives to address grievances that trailed the party’s primaries in the state. Some candidates are believed to be imposed by some powers that in the party thereby killing the chances of those who were duly elected at the primaries.
“However, in a reaction to the alleged imposition, protesters barricaded the secretariat, preventing some senior party officials including the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) members, state executives, the party’s LGA chairmen and others from gaining access into the party secretariat,”
“We were still battling that when the ACME/State boys took over, beating and harassing any suspected imposed candidates. Party officials were also not left out of the beating.
