A Southwest exofficio of the Peoples Democratic Party, Otunba Segun Adewale has called on the PDP National leadership to weigh in on the Lagos State PDP Chairman Deji Doherty for him not to scuttle the functionality of the party any further.
Adewale (Aeroland) in his bid to set the record straight, on how keen he is in allowing the reign of peace and constitionality in the Lagos PDP, raised concern on why the state Chairman applies double standard in the politics of Alimosho, a clear departure from what obtains in the other localities.
According to Adewale, he had all arrangements in place to deliver massive victory in the six localities of Alimosho, which includes Alimosho LGA and five other LCDA’s.
“I already had 36 councillors and six chairmanship aspirants ready in my camp but on the counsel of Doherty, who sued for reconciliation and harmonisation in search of a formidable front at the July 24th council polls,slashed by halves my intending 36 councillorship aspirants.
“The affected 18 aspirants whom were asked to step down out of annoyance moved out to the camp of the other faction, on account of me denying them opportunity to contest, that being said the remaining 18 eligible aspirants, who are with me are being subjected to primaries in six locations across Alimosho alone as opposed to one in other 19 local governments.
It is a clear plot against me as all the six addresses belongs to APC party members, who were opposed to us holding primaries there,this led to change of location twice in Ayobo Ipaja, the height of which made Alani Ige, a land grabber doing the biding of APC to further curry their favours at PDP’s expense.
He refused our members holding primaries in his premises, a former youth leader Sunday Adebola was stabbed and others beaten to coma by his henchmen led by one Erinfolami we did not retaliate.
All we are after is to do what the electoral guidelines as stipulated by the party, but while the guidelines states option A4, they are hell bent on twisting things around they opted for ward delegate insisting that only leaders could vote, we aligned because we are sure we have the numbers with that they felt threatened and resorted to violence which we are not a party to at all.
It will amount to we competing with APC moles in PDP, namely; Alani Ige,Dominic, Shodiya,Akin,Seyi as they have moved designated locations of primaries to their individual houses, but we will go there in an orderly manner and still defeat them as all party modalities were skewed in their favours.
Instead of having the primaries of Agbado Oke Odo LCDA in our party secretariat at 233 Abeokuta Expressway, they opted for APC secretariat at Phillips Street.
They also galvanized APC gun brandishing thugs to the said venue, as well as APC members in a covert operation to subvert our primaries in their favour.
After the police dispersed the thugs,they still went back it took my timely intervention, calming frayed nerves may be many dead bodies would have been recovered from the place.
“I want to state clearly that though we are not averse to the twist of fate as conditioned by the State exco and the faction in Alimosho, whom we know are clearly apologetic to APC’s course and would not like us to win so as to keep oiling their own wheels.
“Now I am left with one LCDA Chairmanship aspirant (Agbado Oke Odo) and 16 councillors and we are ready in spite of their antics to toe the lines mapped out by them.
“We however, remain resolute to explore all available avenues with all certainty that victory will be ours by the special grace of God.
Returning officers were also selected,two per council without my input they can continue, I am a Southwest exofficio yet I humbled myself to do the needful,but they will have us to contend with at the Southwest level.
I feel I need cite this because if the style continues, it may cost us greatly as we might not be able to field any candidate in Alimosho LGA for the council polls,I just want peace to reign.
You asked that we reconcile we did,you ask us to harmonise we also complied, our recognized address for PDP in Alimosho still remains number 233 Abeokuta Expressway but they refused to replicate what they did in other councils here.
“All the modalities were also tailored in a manner that favoured my enemies, who were APC moles in our midst, it is clear the state Chairman cannot handle, Dominic and his likes who are putting venues in their houses, so the national should intervene before it is too late.” Said Adewale.
