LAHA confirms 37 members of state executive council

The Lagos State House of Assembly has confirmed and ratified 37 gubernatorial nominees for appropriate appointments in the administration of the state, having concluded the screening processes.
The prospective members of the state executive council are expected to be sworn in by the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode any moment from now.
The nominee who was unavoidably absent, Mrs Yetunde Onabule at Tuesday plenary, when her colleagues were unveiled to the world, allowed to make an introduction of herself on the floor of the house and also respond to a number of questions, after which the ad hoc committee’s report and recommendation was looked into .
All petitions on eligibility of the nominees were however thrown away haven been critically consider and faulted for lack of verifiable facts.
Mr.Olufemi Onanuga, one of the nominees whose credence was questioned in connection Ikoyi Club financial recklessness was cleared after legal experts opinion were sourced within and outside the house.
Hon. Tobun Mustainu member representing Epe constithowever draws the house attention to the urgent need to know what the status of the nominees were with Directorate of State Security Service (DSS), to forestall an aftermath where criminal records will be cited for any of the nominees.
The chairman of the 16- man ad hoc committee, Deputy Speaker Hon. Wasiu Sanni Eshinlokun in defence of the cited DSS matter noted that, “no red alert had been received from the DSS with respect to the nominees since the time they have been formally involved in the process through a letter dated October 2nd till now”.
It will be recalled that sequel to the receipt of the gubernatorial nominees the house constituted a 15-man ad hoc committee on 29th of September.
The Speaker Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa haven effected the provisions of sections 192 subsection 2 and 14 subsection 4, and found the nominees to have fulfilled the prerequisites in sections 106 and 107 of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended confirmed the nominees and directed the clerk of the house Mr. Ganiyu Abiru to write a letter to the Governor informing him of the house confirmation of the 37nominees.
