LASU urges Bella Shmurda to complete degree
The Lagos State University (LASU), where Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda was apparently a student has taken to Twitter to urge the singer to return to the classroom to complete his degree programme.
National Daily reports that the singer on his Twitter account said if he had remained a student at the Lagos State University, he would be cash-strapped and struggling with failed courses, called carryovers.
It all started when Bella Shmurda who just celebrated his birthday tweeted, “I now worth over half a billion streams (550millions streams to be precise). I for still dey Lasu dey wine and dine with carryovers and stranded with nothing in my pocket… forever glad I did my thing.”
That tweet apparently caught the attention of the school, who through their Twitter handle replied the singer writing, “Happy birthday@fineboybella. Glad you have come this far pursuing your dream. Also glad @LASUOfficial played a part in your beautiful story because Univ. dont make people rich, only incubate them to find and achieve purpose. BTW, please come back to class and earn your degree.”
Bella Shmurda who apparently doesn’t sound like someone who is ready to go back to school replied the higher institution twitter handle writing, “Now playing: 4 years in @LASUOfficial is really nothing.”
In another tweet, he wrote, “Better get tha money! The economy is starving!”
