Lawmaker disburses N10m scholarship to 630 indigent students in  Nasarawa

The Chief Whip of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Larry Ven-Bawa, representing Akwanga North Constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at his second edition of the Annual Value Addition Scholarship Empowerment Scheme in Akwanga on Sunday, disbursed N10 million  scholarships to 630 indigent students in his constituency, studying in various higher institutions.

The lawmaker, Chairman, House Committee on Health, said that the gesture was to improve on the standard of education in his constituency and the state at large.

According to him, the beneficiaries cut across Ancho B, Ningha’an, Agyaga, Nunku, Ningo/Bohar, and Andaha wards.

“I will continue to add value to the lives of the people of my constituency.

“I have been doing so in the areas of fertilisers, employment, empowerment, admission, water supply, and health, among others.

“Today, I have decided to disburse N20,000 each to 30 postgraduate students, N15,000 each to 400 undergraduate students, and N10,000 each to over 200 non-degree students such as NCE and Diploma.

“This is to support your parents by reducing the burden of school fees on your parents and guardians.

“It is also part of my determination in complementing Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s efforts in the education sector,” he said.

Ven Bawa urged the beneficiaries to utilise the money to actualise their academic goals.

He assured the people of his constituency of continued effective and quality representation in the assembly.

“By the grace of God, I will continue to represent you well by continuing to initiate different good policies and programmes that will have a direct bearing on your lives and the lives of others,” he said.
Ven-Bawa called on the people of his constituency and the state at large to continue to support Sule’s administration to succeed.

Hajiya Aisha Idris, All Progressives Congress (APC) Women Leader, Akwanga Local Government Area, in a goodwill message appreciated the lawmaker for always putting a smile on the faces of his constituents.

Nathaniel James, member representing Akwanga North in the assembly, called on the students and other people of the constituency to continue to support Ven-Bawa beyond 2027.

James also called on the people of the constituency and other citizens of the state to continue to support Gov. Sule to succeed.

Mr Jeremiah Markus, on behalf of the beneficiaries, appreciated Ven-Bawa for the gesture and prayed God to bless him abundantly.

He assured him of the beneficiaries loyalty and support.
