Long wait for business as TSTV dealers demands for refunds

Dealers of Telecom Satellite TV popularly called TSTV under the umbrella on the TSTV Super dealers have demanded a refund of their investment which was put at over N1 billion for the procurement of TSTV decoders and other accessories since last year October and is yet to be delivered.

The dealers who accused the Minister of Information, Mr. Lai Mohammed and the CEO of TSTV Bright Echefu, of deceit and fraud, staged a peaceful protest to the headquarters of TSTV in Abuja.

In a message sent to National Daily, the TSTV super dealers appealed to anti-graft agency to help in recovering their hard-earned money.

“When tstv lunched her operations last year October with the aids of minister of information Lai Muhammad a lot of us took up their dealership with N13.6 million each being payments for decoder and accessories with vouchers.”

“But as we speak not a single decoder has be given to the dealers and several failed promises and deceit by bright Echefu CEO since last year October. We have to speak out and let the whole country knows what we are going through more so tstv is still collecting money from innocent Nigeria.”

Recall that the birth of TSTV, an indigenous Pay TV was greeted with high hopes and expectation by many Nigerians. Predicted to challenge the major players in the Pay-TV market in Nigeria. During dinner to mark the official unveiling of the new company, Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed had announced that the Federal Government has granted a 3-year tax relief to the company.

Ernest Essien, Public Relations Officer had last year assured customers of plans by TSTV to roll out its commercial decoders a week after the successful test run of its promo decoders distributed.

Recall that TStv had promised mouthwatering deals to subscribers,  a 70 premium channels model with the cheapest pay-TV in Africa with maximum subscription fee of N3,000 only, a VR (Personal Video Recorder) Decoder which will allow viewers greater control over their viewing experience with functions like pause, rewind, forward, save and record of program of interest, also subscribers to TStv will also get complimentary internet service, enabled Wi-Fi, as well as video calls and video conferencing services.
