Madrid’s coach Solari admits unknown future
Real Madrid Coach Santiago Solari admits he does not know what the future holds for him at the club: “If we knew the future, we would all play the lottery.”
The club have endured a terrible week – Tuesday’s humiliating 4-1 defeat at home to Ajax completing a six-day period whereby they also lost two El Clasicos at their home ground.
Los Blancos exited the Copa del Rey last Wednesday and are now 12 points off the pace in La Liga, with the season destined to end with no trophies for the club.
“Who knows, if we knew the future we would all play the lottery,” Solari told ESPN.
“It was a tough week for us. Three important games in a row and it didn’t turn out the way we wanted. Sometimes football is that way. I don’t have much more to say.
“We need to dedicate ourselves to work, and not give up. In this tough year, which we knew may be tough and it is proving to be tough, but here we are playing with our hearts.”
